The Center for African American Theological Education (CAATS) is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this weekend!  Join us in exploring how teaching methods that center the African American experience can shape theological education and Urban Ministry for the 21st Century with a weekend full of theological reflection, dialogue, and discernment.

Join us for a Public Forum on the State of African Centered Theological Education on Friday 9/19 and for the 2014 Jeremiah Wright Lecture on Saturday 9/20!

The Rev. Martha Simmons will be our guest lecturer this year. The editor and publisher of The African American Pulpit, and the creator of the online resource, The African American Lectionary, Dr. Simmons has been named one of the outstanding African American women preachers in America. As one of this generation’s leading preaching professors Dr. Simmons is committed to training ministers to preach prophetically in the twenty first century.

A gifted educator, Dr. Simmons recently launched the Women of Color in Ministry project, which seeks to confront gender discrimination in churches, seminaries, and service organizations.
